Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about arrival, rooms and booking.

Arrival & departure

When can I check in, and by when do I need to check out?

Your room is ready from 3 pm. On your day of departure, we kindly ask you to vacate the room by 12 noon.

How do I check out — even early in the morning?

Check-out is by 12 noon. If reception is not staffed at the moment or you are leaving early, you can check out on your own: the front door opens with your room key. Simply hang the key in the key cabinet at reception — that’s it.

How does check-in work?

There are two options — we’ll let you know by message which one applies to you:
• Key in the safe: If our reception writes to tell you that your key is in the safe, park in our car park and walk to the hotel entrance. To the right of the front door there is a box with six key safes — you’ll find your key there, using the code from our message.
• Personal welcome: If you haven’t received such a message, our reception will welcome you in person and check you in — you don’t need to do anything.

There’s nobody at reception — what should I do?

There is a bell on the reception desk — just ring it. Our staff member is sometimes briefly elsewhere in the house, but will always come. There is also a bell at the front door.

I’m arriving late in the evening or at night — is that a problem?

Not at all. If you haven’t been told that your key is in the safe, please ring the bell at the front door — our reception will come and check you in. In an emergency you can reach us around the clock on the hotel phone number +49 7632 8282101.

Can I arrive earlier or leave later?

If occupancy allows, we’re happy to oblige — please ask in advance by e-mail at info@relax-tannenhof.de.

Which address should I enter into my sat-nav?

Please do not use Badstraße 42 — it will take you to the back of the house, where there is neither a driveway nor an entrance (only a steep footpath). Enter Tannenweg 2, 79410 Badenweiler instead. That house is directly above the hotel; just before you reach it, you will see our car park.

Where is the entrance? How do I find the car park?

The hotel’s driveway, car park and entrance are on the street Im Hinteren Vogelbach — i.e. on the opposite side of the house from Badstraße. Don’t carry on along Badstraße, or you’ll drive past the house. Parking is free. More on our directions page.

Is there parking?

Yes, free parking right by the house. In the village centre you can park for up to 30 minutes free of charge with a parking disc.

Rooms & facilities

Is breakfast available?

No — deliberately not. Instead, every room has a kitchenette, and our prices are correspondingly lower. You can have breakfast whenever and however you like; you’ll find bakeries and cafés in the village. There is also a coffee machine and a drinks machine at reception.

What’s in the kitchenette?

Hob, fridge, microwave, kettle, as well as crockery, cutlery, pots and pans — everything you need for breakfast and simple meals.

Are bed linen and towels included?

Yes.

Is there Wi-Fi?

Yes, free Wi-Fi throughout the house.

Is smoking allowed?

Ours is a non-smoking house. Please smoke outdoors only.

Are pets allowed?

Yes, dogs, cats and other pets are welcome. We charge €15 per pet per night. Please mention your pet when booking.

Is there a pool or a sauna?

No. For wellness we recommend the Cassiopeia Therme — about a 12-minute walk from us.

Booking & payment

Where do I get the best price?

Directly on our website — that’s where you get the best available rate and instant confirmation by e-mail.

How can I cancel?

The cancellation terms depend on the rate you booked and are shown to you when booking and in your confirmation. Our terms and conditions also apply.

Is there a Kurtaxe (tourist tax)?

Yes. The Kurtaxe (tourist tax) of the municipality of Badenweiler is €3.35 per person per night and is paid on arrival (unless it was already paid when booking).

Do you offer long stays or group rates?

Yes — for stays of 4 weeks or more, contractors, companies and groups, we’re happy to make you an individual offer: send an enquiry.
